IIM Calcutta records 100% summer placement; NITI Aayog hires 5 students

A total of 188 offers amounting to 41 per cent of the total batch were from finance and consulting sectors LATEST NEWS : IIM Calcutta has completed the summer placement process for the 2017-2019 batch and has achieved 100 per cent placement within a span of over two days. A total of 180 firms across diverse sectors had come to IIM Calcutta for the summer placements, a press release said. NITI Aayog also visited the campus and made five prestigious offers, it said. IIM Calcutta, the first triple crowned management school of the country, retained its crown as five private equity firms and seven investment banking firms participated in the process and doled out offers to the students. TCS hired over 12,500 US employees from 2012-2016: Study

The Indian IT major has invested nearly $3 bn in the US in past 3 years Latest news : Global IT services, consulting and business solutions organisation Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) was among the top two job creators, recruiting more than 12,500 US employees from 2012-2016, a recent study by The Cambridge Group said. TCS ranked number one in terms of US employee growth during that period, the study said, according to a release issued by TCS. The Chicago-based Cambridge Group calls itself a growth strategy expert. Latest news : Application forms for the National Defence Academy (NDA) exam 2 is available on the official website of UPSC (Union Public Service Commission). The candidate has to register before filling up the online application form. Once registration is completed, the candidate can start filling the Application Online. The forms have been made available since June 7, 2017 Wednesday. The NDA exams are conducted twice in a year. The NDA exam 1 happened on April 23, 2017 Sunday. Cognizant bows to investor pressure on costs: 10,000 likely to lose jobs

Analysts say the move is both soothing and disconcerting         The annual appraisal at  Cognizant   Technology Solutions this month came as a surprise to many. Not only was their performance under greater scrutiny, but at the end of the review process, as many as 10,000 employees are expected to be laid off. Many of them will lose their job to automation. Like others in the industry, Cognizant, too, has been trying to reinvent itself and focus on high-end projects that require specialised skills as traditional offshore contracts shrink. The Nasdaq-listed solutions provider has 262,200 employees, and, according to sources in the company, up to 2.5 per cent could lose their job, although employees think the number could be higher.
