Why is Isro's test launch of 'game-changing' rocket important?

The launcher would enable Isro to place satellites weighing more than 4 tonnes in orbit Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) plans to undertake next month the first developmental flight of “game-changer” rocket, which can carry satellites weighing 4 tonnes into space from Sriharikota spaceport in Andhra Pradesh, according to Chairman A S Kiran Kumar. Currently, the space agency’s geosynchronous satellite launch vehicle (GSLV MK-2) can carry satellites weighing only 2.2 tonnes and depends on international launches to orbit satellites heavier than that. Not only was their performance under greater scrutiny, but at the end of the review process, as many as 10,000 employees are expected to be laid off. Many of them will lose their job to automation. Like others in the industry, Cognizant, too, has been trying to reinvent itself and focus on high-end projects that require specialised skills as traditional offshore contracts shrink. The Nasdaq-listed solutions provider has 262,200 employees, and, according to sources in the company, up to 2.5 per cent could lose their job, although employees think the number could be higher. SC must stop WhatsApp from sharing user data with Facebook: Here's why

Unless stopped, WhatsApp could share users' personal information with third parties        Facebook  paid $22 billion (Rs.1,472.79 crore) – or, almost 2.5 times Facebook’s 2013 gross revenues – to buy WhatsApp, a company with net loss of over $138 million at the time. Why? One obvious reason, of course, was to stave off potential competition and start its way towards becoming a social media conglomerate. Less talked about, however, is how the acquisition would allow Facebook access to WhatsApp’s user base and user data –  Whatsapp  accounts for over 1 billion users who make over 500 million phone calls, share 700 million photos, 100 million videos and 1 billion messages a day.
