Has 5.33% share in India - the fifth-largest passenger vehicle market where 3 million units are sold annually LATEST NEWS :  Tata Motors’s sales increased 19 per cent this financial year, helping it to race ahead of Japanese carmaker Honda Cars and secure the fourth spot among peers in the domestic market. In the same period, Honda’s sales rose by 17 per cent. Between April 2017 and January 2018, T ata Motors sold 149,284 units of passenger vehicles. Honda Cars sold 144,802 units in the period. In FY17, Tata Motors had sold 153,151 units, compared to Honda’s 157,313 units. Honda, however, claimed to be unperturbed by the change in the pecking order. “What we try to achieve is a higher market share. We require at least a 10 per cent share in the Indian market to have a sustainable position,” said Yoichiro Ueno, president and chief executive officer, Honda Cars India. Scooters captured more than one-third of domestic two wheeler market for first time in over a decade LATEST  NEWS     : Think about the slowest growing segment of Indian automobile industry. It is not the three-wheelers or the commercial vehicles. It is the motorcycle , the biggest segment of the industry by volume, marked by top players like Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj Auto and Honda. Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (Siam) data shows that the Indian motorcycle market has grown by less than six per cent cumulatively since FY14. In the same period, domestic passenger vehicle market expanded by 20 per cent, commercial vehicles grew by 13 per cent and three-wheelers by 12 per cent. The volume of motorcycles, the largest segment by units sold, has remained stuck between 10 and 11 million units a year in last four years. While two consecutive deficient monsoons (2014 and 2015) were a factor, the larger impact is coming from a shift towards scooters. ...

The revised prices are for ex-showroom Delhi and will vary from state to state Latest news  : Honda Cars India has brought down prices of its models by up to Rs 1.31 lakh with immediate effect to help customers reap GST benefits. The company has cut price of its hatchback Brio by up to Rs 12,279 and that of compact sedan Amaze by up to Rs 14,825. Besides, it has slashed price of Jazz by up to Rs 10,031 and that of its recently launched model WR-V by up to Rs 10,064. Price of mid-sized sedan City has been reduced in the range of Rs 16,510 and Rs 28,005. The BR-V prices will come down by up to Rs 30,387. Its premium SUV CR-V has also seen a price drop of up to Rs 1,31,663. Honda is yet to decide on the revised pricing of Accord Hybrid.
